When meeting new people and interacting with them, I usually probe the reason why they are not invested ina second income such as direct marketing. When asked why they are not willing to take up Direct Marketing as their source of income, I encounter similar replies such as

"I am not suited for this role.. I'm too shy."
"I can't... It's just so like selling and I'm pretty bad at selling anything to anyone."
"No way.. I get jitters when i need to approach people especially those I don't know."
"It's like cold calling right... People will just hang up on me!"

Well, I can't blame them, can I? We all have such jitters from time to time. However, some people just seem to have the knack of getting to know people at every event they turn up. They seem to just flow into the conversation and win people over. Maybe it's genetic. Or maybe, it's hypnosis :D

Had a friend who recently took to hypnosis and she was just telling how wonderful it is. Well, I have decided to give her raving a little bit of credit by trying out one of the site she recommended. Here is what I am going to order and try to figure out if I can recommend them to my down lines if I find them to be wavering in disbelief at why they are not making with Amega what they should be making. Things you should know before becoming a direct seller

I know a lot of people who hold lots of misconceptions about DIRECT SELLING. The main misconception is that it is a MLM Scam. Nothing can be further from the truth.

Basic Distinctions

MLM - thrives on referrals
Direct Selling - thrives on sales and then on referral

MLM - needs you to pay to join the program
Direct Selling - Do not require any joining fee apart from getting a business kit to kick start your direct selling venture (Now people may see this as a joining fee but if you do not know what products you are dealing with or what compensation plans are in place and how you will receive your payments, how are you going to explain this to your customers or potential partners?)

MLM - No products
Direct Selling - Product ranges are available depending on the direct selling industry you join. It can range from energy to wellness to beauty to tupper wares.

Take a simple scenario. You walk into a BodyShop outlet (I like their products so I am using it as a an example) and find this amazing perfume. You buy it and you apply it on your next outing and your friends or relatives ask you what you are wearing and you start with where you bought it, the price, the scent and so on.... The next day, they end up at BodyShop and buy the same product. Well, you referred a good product which they liked and they ended up buying it. Suppose BodyShop is a direct selling company. You will actually get a referral fee and you can actually buy at member price and sell at retail price making a profit. What is the difference? YES! you make money! That is direct selling. What is the scam in that?

Recently, I bought a coconut breaker equipment from a steelware shop. I happen to share this with my sis-in-law and she was excited about it. We used to have this sickle type of thing which we use to break coconuts and for a person who is not very careful, you could end up getting hit on your arms from time to time. So this thing was really simple. You just keep that coconut breaker on the floor and slam the coconut on it. The water just flows into the container and the coconut breaks into a beautiful halves. 2 weeks later, I had a party at my place and all the ladies who attended ended up buying that thing the next day. Hmmm... now, if only i got paid for the referrals, I would have easily made some quick money.

Anyway, I just get a little mystified and dejected when people just ignore something because someone is getting paid for referring it. I am sure you guys who are involved in direct selling face this kind of issues as well. If you do, do let me know by posting comments. What is Epigenetics?

In biology the term epigenetics refers to changes in appearance or gene expression caused by mechanisms other than in the underlying DNA sequence, hence the name epi- (Greek: over; above) – genetics. Non-genetic factors cause the organism‟s genes to behave (or “express themselves”) differently, of global interest are certain bioactive nutrients.

Today, a wide variety of illnesses, behaviours, and other health indicators already have some level of evidence linking them with epigenetic mechanisms, including cancers of almost all types, cognitive dysfunction, and respiratory, cardiovascular, reproductive, autoimmune, and neurobehavioral illnesses. Magnet Therapy, properly referred to as Biomagnetic therapy is completely safe if applied properly but is not advised with pregnancy as there have been no conclusive studies.

The Science of MagnetoBioPhysics or what is commonly called Biomagnetism is a very exacting technology/science.

Many magnetic companies think it is OK to place magnets anywhere on the body. Even the World Health Organization has issued a formal statement that static magnetic fields (from hard, non-electric magnets) pose no health risks.

But this is not entirely true. The body is made up complex energies that go into the millionths of a volt. Through the years, the body and its cellular voltages have been completely tested, analyzed and fully reported in basic physiology. As the laws of physics are very basic, the voltage from an improperly applied magnetic field can stress the cells electrical field.

These energies and the body's neurotransmission travel through nerve pathways which run in very specific directions. When using Biomagnetism, it is important to energize through the proper pathways so the energy does not run backwards and stress the area.

There have been numerous reports of pain arising from using the Bio-North Negative healing field. Practitioners and/or magnet companies have indicated just keep wearing it or continuously put it on or off until the healing takes place.

Are there any bad side effects of Magnet Therapy?

Not when used correctly. But if used incorrectly, magnetism can stress a site already stressed. It is a very specific science and must be applied correctly. Foundation for Magnetic Science teaches and explains exactly how to place the BioMagnets.

In basic physiology, (Dr. Robert Becker, The Body Electric) it has been found that a traumatized site immediately sends a signal to the brain which in turn sends Negative energy to [raise the Zeta potential] heal the site. All cells in the body and their proper balance are governed by the electromotive forces (ions) of the chemical interactions. These voltage forces or micro-charges [of which the cell membranes are measured in pico Farads] are responsible for cellular transfer of oxygen, nutrients, waste elimination, maintenance of the immune system, and the complete operation of the body. Cells measure an electromotive force known as the Zeta (Negative) potential. Healthy cells have a high Negative Zeta potential and efficiently transport nutrients and waste in and out of the cells. A crowd of more than 80 people gathered in the Singapore training room for a presentation by Ms Vivienne Butler and Mr Reggie Ng.

Starting the evening, Ms Vivienne explained that her presentation would be a class scenario and questions could be asked as she progressed. She began by giving a background to the 17th Century – which allowed everyone to know what other important events occurred around the scientific discoveries that play such an important part in our lives today. Ms Vivienne went on to explain in simple terms what energy is, as well as information about the products and how they work. There was much laughter and enjoyment as facts, both scientific and historical were given to the audience to enjoy.

Mr Reggie completed the evening by explaining the many benefits of the Complan system followed by a FAQ. The audience were fired up with enthusiasm at his dynamic and informative presentation and many leaders came away with a greater understanding of the products and the complan system. It was enjoyed by all.

13th – 18th July 2009

There was great excitement when Ms Pearl Goh took Dr Hu to Manila. Dr Hu was welcomed as more than 100 people attended his first presentation – The Science behind AFT. This meeting was an exclusive especially for our Associates only.
The following evening a presentation was open house – for new potential associates and the general public. More than 220 people were treated to a presentation. There were questions and answers and the crowd responded warmly to him.

Next Ms Pearl Goh and Dr Hu travelled to Cebu where more than 100 attended his presentation. A fabulous time was had by all. In a busy schedule Ms Pearl and Dr Hu then travelled to Ilo Ilo where Dr Hu appeared on a television show which aired nationally throughout the Philippines. There was standing room only and he was well very received by all he met.

Upon their return to our offices in Manila Dr Hu carried out Product training for the leaders on how to use the AmWand to its best effect.

1st – 5th July 2009

Mr Kemer then started his Far East tour and went to Taiwan with Mr Benjamin Cheng (VP of Training and Development) and met up with Ms Alice Li – this gateway to the Far East is a wonderful bridge to emerging and expanding markets for Amega, giving us the opportunity to capitalise on Japan, South Korea and China.

Whilst there Mr Kemer met with quantum physicists, holistic therapists and medical doctors who were all shown the benefits of our products. Many are now using and endorsing them as part of their treatments and introducing them to their wellness and health centres.

China is a first step to understand how Amega Global can introduce the concept of E-Commerce, to understand the legislative requirements and to meet with interested future Business Associates who are waiting impatiently to start with Amega. Our future expansion in China and the other markets is getting closer all the time and once everything is ‘set to go’ and fulfils all the necessary legislation – we will be expanding into this exciting market.

It was an auspicious occasion when our Group CEO went to the Australian office for the first time. The office – opened last November - has been through a complete refurbishment and fitting and was now ready to open its doors to all Business Associates and new members.

Mr Kemer was hands on with presentations and firing up the new members of the Amega Family. His purpose to assist in the growth of the business and to discuss the Amega Dreams, the benefits of the products and the strategy for future growth.
His road show was well received and highly successful with leaders there. His presentations were in Brisbane, Melbourne and the Gold Coast.

AMFood was launched on 26th June 09. AMFood was launched officially at Concorde Hotel, Singapore at 7:30 pm. It was a huge success and Mr Chris Neville gave a wonderful presentaion of the entire product. All attendees were given AMFood for sampling and the next day at the training session was a revealing one with lots of testimonies.

Many who tried the AMFood testified that they were filled with so much energy that night that they were unable to sleep till early next morning. Mind you, this was the state only after consuming the product for sampling. Many testimonies were of the great taste, the convenience and business value it adds to the associates businesses. More on the product in my next post. So, stay tuned :D
